Privacy Policy

Reelwave ("Reelwave", "we", "us") helps you make short videos with AI and schedule posts to Instagram. Reelwave is part of Banyan, a suite of tools operated by Gim Info Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and you use it through your Banyan account at app.getreelwave.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how you can delete it. The Banyan Privacy Policy covers your Banyan account in general; this page adds what is specific to Reelwave.

1. Data we collect

Your Banyan account

  • Your name, email address and password (stored only as a bcrypt hash).
  • Your plan and billing details, handled by our payment providers.

Your Instagram account, when you connect it

You connect Instagram through Meta's official login (Instagram Login or Facebook Login for Business). We never see or store your Instagram password. When you connect, we store:

  • Your Instagram account ID and username, and, if you connect through Facebook, the ID of the Facebook Page linked to that account.
  • An access token from Meta that lets Reelwave publish for you. It is encrypted before we store it.
  • Basic profile information Instagram returns: display name, profile picture, follower count and post count, which we show in the app.
  • The time zone you choose for the account.

What you create and schedule

  • Videos and images you upload, captions, scheduled times, and the post type (Reel, photo, Story or carousel).
  • The result of each publish: whether it succeeded, any error Instagram returned, and the Instagram media ID of the published post.

AI reels and Copilot

  • The prompts you write, the settings you pick and any images you add as a starting frame or reference.
  • The videos the AI generates, which are saved to your media library.
  • Your Copilot conversations, including images you share in them.

Comment and DM automations, if you turn them on

If you set up an automation that replies to comments or messages, we receive the comments and messages on your connected account that relate to it, including the sender's Instagram username and Instagram-scoped ID, so we can send the reply you configured. Nothing is collected for this until you create an automation.

Technical data

  • Server logs (IP address, browser user agent, time and request details), kept for up to 30 days to keep the service secure and fix problems.

2. How we use it

  • To publish your posts to Instagram at the times you choose, and show you what was published.
  • To generate the AI videos you ask for and answer your Copilot messages.
  • To run the automations you set up.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To email you about your account, such as security notices and receipts.

We use data received from Instagram and Meta only to provide the features you use in Reelwave. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. We do not use your content, prompts or Instagram data to train AI models.

3. Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

  • Meta Platforms (Instagram Graph API): your posts, captions and replies, sent to Instagram when you publish or when an automation replies.
  • BytePlus (ModelArk video generation): your AI reel prompts, settings and any images you attach, to generate the video.
  • Anthropic (Claude): your Copilot messages and shared images, to write replies. When Copilot searches the web, the search query goes through Anthropic's web search.
  • Amazon Web Services: storage of uploaded and generated media.
  • Payment providers (Razorpay in India, Stripe elsewhere), if you buy a plan.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

4. How long we keep it

  • Account, Instagram and content data: for as long as your account is active, or until you delete it.
  • When you disconnect an Instagram account, in Reelwave or by removing the app in Instagram, we delete its access token immediately. Your post history stays so you can reconnect later, until you delete it.
  • Server logs: up to 30 days.

5. Deleting your data

You can disconnect Instagram at any time and have your data deleted. A deletion request made through Instagram or Meta immediately and permanently deletes everything Reelwave holds for that Instagram account, including its posts and media, AI reels, automations and inbox messages. Deleting your Reelwave account deletes all of your Reelwave data, including Copilot conversations. You can also email us, and we complete emailed requests within 30 days. We keep only records the law requires, such as invoices. The steps are on our data deletion page.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your data;
  • correct data that is wrong;
  • delete your data;
  • stop a use of your data you object to, or withdraw consent you gave.

7. Security

  • All traffic to Reelwave is encrypted with TLS.
  • Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest, and dropped when you disconnect.
  • Only a small engineering team can access production data.

8. Children

Reelwave is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Where your data is processed

We are based in India. Your data may be processed in India and in other countries where our providers operate, including the United States, Singapore and the European Union.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
